NBIS is thrilled to partner with Julia Schmidt and the fantastic team at the CEDAR Brain Injury Lab. We are so grateful to see peer support for brain injury survivors acknowledged as an integral part of the healing journey.
Last week, the CEDAR Brain Injury Lab along with principal investigator Dr. Julia Schmidt hosted a video screening event at GF Strong Hospital to showcase the experience of peer support after brain injury, from a partnered project with Nanaimo Brain Injury Society. Featured in the video, are Kevin Gulbranson and Ronny Lekx, who were involved in the peer support program, sharing their experiences of brain injury. Approximately 80 people attended, including people with lived experience of brain injury, community association members, clinicians, and family and friends.
