As China imposes stricter export controls from 1st December on critical raw materials, including graphite, global supply chains will face challenges. According to Benchmark Minerals, the EU plans to impose tariffs up to 35.3% on Chinese electric vehicles over the next five years, building on an existing 10% duty. This aims to level the playing field in the global EV market and highlights the need for diverse suppliers. Graphite is the largest raw material in a lithium-ion battery by weight and is therefore key to the electrification of the automotive sector. We are pleased to announce the completion of the first commercial shipments of SuperFlake® graphite concentrate from our Molo Graphite Mine in southern #Madagascar. Full container loads of high-quality, coarse flake graphite concentrate were exported from the Port of Tulear. Our graphite is now on its way to our European and American customers for use in high value graphite products including consumer electronics and fire-retardant applications. This is an important step in NextSource’s development as a supplier of critical materials to global markets and a contributor to Madagascar’s economic development. #Graphite #EVs #Madagascar

In a major boost for China's NEV market, the trade-in subsidy was doubled at the end of July, approaching 2020 levels.
