Jared Nicola, Senior Project Manager, Construction, highlights the completion of the Maple Meadows Advanced Self Storage project, marking a significant milestone as Canada’s first Net Zero Carbon self-storage facility, earning certification from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). As 2025 begins, we reflect on the Nicola Wealth Real Estate team’s 2024 successes. Some of our major accomplishments include supporting the acquisition of 6 US multi-family properties, completing major development projects including Advanced Self Storage Maple Meadows Phase 4 as well as Industrial projects in the GTA, and completing over 2.2 million square feet of lease deals across the portfolio. We would like to thank our partners, the brokerage teams, property managers, and other service providers for their continued collaboration. In addition, we are grateful for the support we receive from Nicola Wealth and its clients. We look forward to an exciting 2025! 

A new lease has been signed for over 38,000 square feet across two floors for the new Nicola Wealth headquarters. The headquarters will be part of a state-of-the-art project designed with sustainability in mind, targeting LEED Gold Certification. The new head office is being built above the future South Granville SkyTrain station on the Broadway Line Extension, and is set to become a landmark in Vancouver’s West Broadway Corridor.    The Nicola Wealth Real Estate team was happy to assist on this transaction and would like to extend a huge thank you to PCI Developments, TD Asset Management, Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership and CBRE for their ongoing collaboration on this project.

The Nicola Wealth Real Estate team is pleased to see great construction progress at Wisteria Row, a residential condo project in Victoria, developed with our valued partner Aryze Developments. 

It was both insightful and entertaining to, along with my co-host Claire Blessing, host a Nicola Wealth Beyond the Table dinner with guests to discuss real estate investing. We were thrilled to have both Mark Hannah and Alex Messina, who lead the firm’s real estate team, as our keynote speakers for the evening. They shared with us the nuances that help distinguish attractive sub-sectors in this vast asset class. It was clear that you can’t paint all of the real estate sector with the same broad brush and that this asset class continues to be an important consideration for client portfolios. The delicious food and wine provided by Alo Salon went down well during this thought-provoking dinner!
