My team and I recently wrote this piece for Parents Canada "The Gift of Understanding: Holiday Advice for Parents of 2SLGBTQ+ Youth". This piece is based on questions that I often receive from parents and families, and stories and experiences that youth have shared with me. I hope this helps parents and families create inclusive and affirming home environments where their children feel safe and supported.

Did you know? • Most pharmacists and physiotherapists worked primarily in community settings, accounting for nearly three-quarters of their workforces — the highest proportions among the professionals studied. • The number of family physicians working in direct care settings increased by 20% from 2014 (29,341) to 2022 (35,244). • Almost 1 in 3 nurse practitioners primarily worked in community settings, a 3-percentage-point increase over the past 10 years.
