As part of the OFI Visiting Fellowship program, H Rahul Krishna (Krish) investigated the numerical self-propulsion analysis of the Explorer class Autonomous Underwater Vehicle at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. His work was supervised by Dr. Ting Zou, Dr. Neil Bose, Dr. Manoj Issac and Dr. D. D. Ebenezer This project was a collaborative research effort between the Cochin University of Science and Technology and Memorial University. 🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Desai Shan! 🎉 At OFI we are privileged to be in the company of dedicated, talented researchers who are helping solve complex ocean challenges. So, when one of them is honoured, we can’t help but cheer! We are delighted to share that Desai Shan was recently named one of Atlantic Canada’s Most Inspiring Immigrants for 2025! Since 2018, when Dr. Shan started in OFI’s International Postdoctoral Fellowship program, we have been grateful for her research and contributions, notably her work on two Safe & Sustainable Development of the Ocean Frontier projects: Informing Governance Responses in a Changing Ocean, and Safe Navigation and Environmental Protection. Now, as an assistant professor in maritime occupational health and safety at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador we are so pleased to see her impact grow and to be celebrated.
