🛰️ Have you ever come across smearing like this in Google or Apple maps and wondered why it happens? 🛰️ Ortho-rectified imagery is designed to give us a true-to-scale view of the Earth's surface, correcting distortions caused by terrain. But sometimes, you might notice smearing or blurring in these images. One common reason for this is elevation changes. When there’s a significant change in elevation, the pixels in the imagery may struggle to accurately represent the terrain. This can lead to smearing or blurring, as the software tries to reconcile the varying heights with the flat, 2D representation. At OGL, we understand how crucial accuracy is for your projects.
