📢Exciting news! The provincial and federal governments have partnered to invest $108.5 million over the next three years in a school food program. This marks a critical step toward ensuring all students have access to nutritious meals to fuel their learning every school day. At ONFE, we’re committed to building on this momentum to reach all students in need through our School Breakfast Program. This Global Entrepreneurship Week, 705 students from the Ottawa Catholic School Board and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) had the chance to learn from our incredible JA World of Choices career panelists—Michael Weatherhead, MBA, Zan Ansari, Carlo B., Michèle Marchand-The Better Scalp Company and Madison Fisher-Invest Ottawa. They shared invaluable insights, teaching students that failures are simply data points on the entrepreneurial journey. Our volunteers emphasized the importance of networking, seeking mentorship, and developing essential skills such as grit, curiosity, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving—qualities that students can start cultivating while still in high school. A big thank you to RBC and Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa for sponsoring this event, and to the OCSB for hosting us! #GlobalEntrepreneurshipWeek #JAWorldOfChoices #Entrepreneurship #SuccessStartsHere

Today is World Children's Day. A day dedicated to advocating for children's rights around the world. At ONFE, we're proud to champion initiatives that help Ottawa's children thrive, from ensuring they start their school day with a healthy meal or snack with our School Breakfast Program, to supporting their learning journey with Volunteers In Education, from fostering hands-on learning with Classroom Gardens, to providing immersive financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs with JA Ottawa.

When you give to ONFE, you’re fueling hands-on lessons in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness—the kind of know-how students don’t just pick up anywhere. As one student put it, " JA taught me about taxes and investing because no one explained it to me before...it really helped me understand properly."

🌍 It’s Global Entrepreneurship Week – an important initiative we’re proud to celebrate, as entrepreneurships is one of our three pillars! 🚀 We see first-hand how JA participants of our entrepreneurship programs and learning opportunities benefit from this experience. This brings us all closer to our global vision of a world in which young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities. 🌟 We see this directly through our many wonderful JA Company Participants, and many of our volunteers or JA supporters are entrepreneurs themselves who are wonderful mentors in our network! Success starts here! 🎉 #GEW2024 #JACanada
