About us

The Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers (OPVG) is a non-profit grower organization for producers of tomatoes, green peas, sweet corn, green and wax beans, cucumbers, beets, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, lima beans, onions, peppers, pumpkin and squash for the canning, freezing and pickling industry. The primary functions of the organization is the annual negotiation of prices, terms and conditions of sale of 14 processing vegetable crops on behalf of growers. There are approximately 450 processing vegetable growers in the three districts across Ontario. Within each district there are committees comprised of district committeemen who are elected annually at a rate of one committeeman per twenty growers. Each district committee elects a provincial directors to sit on the OPVG Board of Directors in accordance with the provisions of the marketing plan. The board is comprised of a total of 9 provincial directors.
