Adoption update from the Ontario SPCA Sudbury & District Animal Centre on Bailey! 🏡🐾 She was adopted into a wonderful home about a year ago and it's so amazing to see how she's grown up! "We fell in love with her last December and the rest is history. She just celebrated her first birthday. She is a rambunctious, silly, loving pup that constantly keep us on our toes. She has stolen our hearts and has helped us through some rough times this past year. She has made friends, is spoiled and makes everyone she meets smile. Her favourite toys are squeaky balls, her donut and us." Congratulations to Bailey and her family! 💗 Meet our animals available for adoption at https://lnkd.in/daruUCx

This weekend’s polar vortex is bringing dangerously cold weather to Ontario. The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society urges pet parents to take precautions to protect their furry friends: Limit outdoor time – Keep walks short and watch for signs your pet is cold, like shivering or lifting paws. Consider a coat for puppies, seniors, or short-coated dogs. Vehicles can be dangerous – Leave pets at home while running errands. Cars cool quickly, putting animals at risk of hypothermia or frostbite. Always knock on the hood before starting your car to avoid harming cats seeking warmth. Beware of winter hazards – Wipe your pet’s paws after walks to remove salt or chemicals, and check for antifreeze spills, which can be fatal if ingested. Know the signs of cold stress – If your pet is shivering, whining, or reluctant to keep walking, it’s time to get them indoors. If you’re concerned about an animal left outside, call Provincial Animal Welfare Services at 1-833-9ANIMAL (1-833-926-4625) immediately. For emergencies, call 911. Stay safe and warm this weekend!
