The 26th Annual Meeting of National Authorities took place in November and brought together representatives from 135 States Parties, along with expert speakers and partners, engaged in valuable discussions to advance the goals of the Chemical Weapons Convention. Through regional dialogues and thematic sessions on chemical security, customs collaboration, and capacity building, this meeting reinforced our shared commitment to a safer and more secure world. At a joint OPCW-European Youth Parliament #CSP29 side event, participants listened to representatives of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) discuss their role in shaping global peace and security. The event highlighted how youth and civil society contribute to meaningful dialogue, driving positive change for a future free of #ChemicalWeapons. #EYP #CWC

At #CSP29, representatives of victims of #ChemicalWeapons contributed to the Conference through statements, side events, and exhibits. Their participation underscored the devastating impact of chemical warfare on human lives and advocated for support and justice for victims. #OPCW #CWC

At a recent "Science for Diplomats" #CSP29 side event, experts discussed how #AI is transforming many aspects of society, including chemical sciences 🧪 While AI drives innovation, it also poses risks that could affect the implementation of the #ChemicalWeaponsConvention and #OPCW's work.

The shadow cast by #ChemicalWeapons has claimed countless victims, both civilians and soldiers across the globe. Today we observe the Day of #Remembrance for All Victims of Chemical Warfare, and reaffirm our commitment to a world free from these inhumane weapons 🕊️
