#DailyTips Changing your mood is possible... Many times we go about our daily routine and come across some undesirable situations. Sometimes these situations make us grumpy; they just piss us off (LOL). What can we do about it? YOU CANNOT CHANGE EVERYTHING! Release the need to control these situations. It is unlikely that you are able to change what just happened or what is going to happen. Just let it go by gently guiding your attention back to the present moment and to something that is compassionate. When you pay attention to your moods - you can use the negative ones as the trigger to change your approach instead of staying in a negative mindset. Don't get mad at yourself for having any negative thoughts - just view them as passing and temporary and a sign that you perhaps need to change something. You can always change your thinking by refocusing on something different. It may take some practice and patience and daily work. Give it a try! #mindfulness #optimistic #meditation

#DailyTips Experience your emotions and don't push them away... Do your emotions dominate you to the point that you define who you are based on them? Do you say things like "I am angry." or "I am depressed." etc... When you do this, you are defining WHO you are with your emotions. YOU ARE NOT YOUR EMOTIONS. One way of looking at your emotions is to rephrase your statements by saying "I am experiencing anger in my body at this moment." or "I am experiencing depression in my body at this moment." etc... This re-phrasing helps soften the permanence of your emotions. Whenever you are experiencing anything at the moment, there is an implication that it's not permanent and that it CAN and WILL pass. This new mindset helps give you some space to play around with new thoughts that will cause new emotions. Be gentle and be patient with yourself. #mindfulness #optimistic #meditation #observe

We accumulate "stuff" and we keep it. Release the clutter in your life by recognizing your attachment to a "thing" when you are equating it to your well-being, status or value. Re-frame that story and recognize nothing external can really soothe you. #Mindfulness #Clutter

#DailyTips Appreciation for others enhances your mood... Tell 3 people today that you really appreciate them! This helps focus your mind on something good and you also tell yourself the story that you are good as well because of the nice deed you just did. Consciously doing this on a regular basis will retrain your brain to do this automatically. #mindfulness #optimistic #meditation #appreciation

Sunday Meditation: This meditation allows us to relish a past positive experience. We do this because most of us dismiss any accomplishment very quickly and relishing in them allows them to really implant a positive story about our abilities. This builds trust which is the antidote to fear. This also builds value/live towards ourselves and that is the antidote to shame. This exercise also teaches focus, patience etc... https://lnkd.in/e3Sgeqz #meditation #dailymeditation #mindfulness #tipoftheday

#DailyTips Switch away from regret... Many times as we interact with people we sometimes do things that we wish we hadn't. Perhaps you were rude to a service worker, perhaps you were impatient with your child, perhaps you put someone down just for expressing their opinion etc... Rest assured, we ALL have done this and we all do this on a regular basis. We then are filled with regret whereby we beat ourselves up for acting this way. We relive that moment over and over again, wishing it to be different. Compassion allows us to take ownership of these unfortunate actions. When you recognize that you had a challenging experience and recognize that others have the same challenges and you remain kind to yourself you will be able to let this past experience go. You can learn from it and notice that bad behavior stems from how we think about ourselves and not what happens externally. Knowing your story allows you to shift it. Compassion helps release regret and shame. Be gentle with yourself and it may take some time. You will see an improvement. Compassion is the key. #mindfulness #optimistic #meditation
