Last week, we completed the Growth Catalyst program from Mount Royal University - a big step for us as business owners. This program gave us the tools, insights, and perspective to fine-tune our goals and take Outline Homes to the next level. It’s been an incredible opportunity to learn from experts, connect with other growth-minded businesses, and challenge ourselves to think bigger. We’re leaving with a clearer vision, actionable strategies, and a renewed energy for what’s next. Grateful for the experience and excited to see where this momentum takes us!

The Powder Room at the Blue Quill Estates Project: The powder room at Blue Quill Estates project blends elegance and functionality, creating a serene retreat that complements the home's overall aesthetic. A key feature is the exquisite basket weave pattern of the brick floors, which ties in with the original brick fireplace in the adjoining dining room, fostering a cohesive design narrative throughout the space. To address storage needs without compromising style, we incorporated two tall cabinets designed to discreetly house cleaning supplies, linens, and other essentials. This thoughtful inclusion ensures that the space remains organized and functional, reflecting the needs of modern living. The walls and ceilings are adorned with a soft greige limewash, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Fluted wall paneling extends halfway up the walls, adding texture and visual interest while elevating the overall sophistication of the design. The calming vibe of the powder room is further enhanced by these carefully chosen elements, resulting in a space that invites relaxation and reflection. Each detail has been meticulously selected to create a harmonious and tranquil environment, making this powder room a delightful sanctuary within the home. Photos by Sharon Litchfield

Sharing Details on the Ensuite at the Blue Quill Estates Project: The ensuite at the Blue Quill Estates Project reimagines the concept of a private retreat, merging functionality with luxury to create a serene sanctuary. Our approach involved a complete rework of the existing layout, prioritizing a more functional use of space while integrating ample storage solutions. This transformation not only enhances the usability of the ensuite but also elevates the overall aesthetic. A standout feature of this design is the wet room, designed to offer an immersive spa-like experience. It includes two luxurious rain shower heads, and the arch over the freestanding tub adds an elegant architectural element, creating a focal point that enhances the overall ambience. To achieve a harmonious balance between contemporary design and classic elegance, we selected floor tiles that mimic the patterns of Italian breccia stone. Complementing these, the wall tiles are inspired by traditional Moroccan zellige, adding a touch of artisanal craftsmanship and rich texture to the space. Natural light plays a pivotal role in this ensuite, enhanced by the skylights that flood the space with daylight, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. The large vanity mirror serves as both a practical feature and a design statement, reflecting light and amplifying the sense of space. This thoughtful addition ensures functionality while contributing to the overall luxurious feel of the ensuite. In summary, the Blue Quill Estates ensuite embodies a seamless integration of beauty and function, providing a spa-like retreat that is both sophisticated and welcoming. This project showcases our commitment to quality design, transforming a standard space into an exceptional haven tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle. Photos by Sharon Litchfield

The Blue Quill Estates Project - Kitchen Highlights The kitchen at Blue Quill Estates Project embodies modern elegance and functionality, designed as both a place for cooking and a space to gather and entertain. Central to the design are the Calacatta Arabescato marble countertops, whose unique veining adds character and depth, contributing to the overall aesthetic. The oversized island serves as the kitchen’s focal point, offering ample space for meal prep and casual dining. The cabinetry on the island’s reverse side provides additional storage, ensuring all cooking and entertaining essentials are easily accessible. With no designated pantry in the design, we strategically incorporated a large cupboard for pantry essentials, further enhancing the kitchen's functionality without sacrificing aesthetics. Natural light floods the space through a thoughtfully designed backsplash window, which frames views of the expansive reverse pie lot backyard. This connection to the outdoors brings a sense of tranquility and openness, making the kitchen feel even more inviting. A limewash hood fan adds an artisanal touch, softening the kitchen's lines while contributing to the overall airy feel of the space. Warm brass wall sconces provide ambient lighting, perfect for both cooking and socializing. The Blue Quill Estates kitchen is a blend of beauty and practicality, designed to meet the needs of modern living while celebrating the artistry of quality materials and craftsmanship. Spotlight on the Main Bathroom at the Blue Quill Estates Project The main bath at Blue Quill Estates is thoughtfully designed with family living in mind, creating a functional and stylish space that caters to the needs of modern households. The elongated layout allowed us to incorporate a wet room, an ideal solution for families with small children. This design enables kids to enjoy splashing in the tub while keeping the rest of the bathroom dry, making bath time a fun and stress-free experience. White oak cabinets lend a warm, inviting touch to the space, enhancing the overall aesthetic with their natural beauty. Complementing this are the charming Cherub wall sconces from Huey Lightshop, which add a playful yet sophisticated element, illuminating the room with a soft glow. The vanity features abundant storage solutions, including a practical cabinet that sits atop the countertop, providing ample space for toiletries and other essentials. This thoughtful arrangement ensures that everything is organized and easily accessible, promoting a clutter-free environment. The overall design of the main bath seamlessly combines functionality and style, creating a welcoming atmosphere that caters to the dynamics of family life. Each element has been carefully chosen to enhance usability while maintaining a cohesive and elegant aesthetic, making this space a delightful retreat for the entire family.
