"I wanted to send you an email with my greatest thanks and appreciations for all your help and assistance in getting Binx’s dental work taken care of for me. He did very well, four teeth were removed. He is home, resting comfortably and doing great. The staff at Cypress Animal Hospital were amazing, we’re very supportive and I also cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of Binx. I really appreciate Paws for Hope for everything that they do to help with our pets. Many in my community have pets for the love and support they provide to us, having them helps us through the days." We met Binx and his Dad at our recent free health clinic at McLaren Housing Society of British Columbia and thanks to you, we were able to ensure that Binx had the dental surgery he so urgently needed. The lovely note above was sent to Dr. Gordon, our amazing veterinary partner from Haven Veterinary Services We are so grateful that you have chosen to support people and their pets and that you trust us to do this very important work. #petsarefamily #CommunityHealth #veterinarymedicine #cats #bettertogether #nopetleftbehind #keepingfamiliestogether #onehealth #animalwelfare

Animal lovers know, pets deserve to be home with the people who love them. At Paws for Hope, we have been working for the last 13 years to make sure that pets and their people don't have to be separated due to lack of funds, unforeseen emergencies or personal crises. Whether that means providing subsidized veterinary care for pet families, offering veterinary care to remote and underserved communities, or providing temporary foster care for pet families in crisis - we know that loved pets should be at home with their families. This year, our fundraising campaign is called "Home for the holidays, and always" because Paws for Hope supporters know that every pet deserves veterinary care and support. We'll be sharing stories over the next few weeks of pets and people that our donors and partners support has helped keep together. Whether you have been following us for years or you are new to our community, please know that we grateful for every single person who gives so that pet families can continue to be happy, healthy and together.

A few weeks ago, we told you about Jacquie and Bebe - and they were recently featured on Global BC news! Here's a link to see the story: https://lnkd.in/gKr5UtnS Jacquie is our dedicated community liaison in the remote village of Anacla on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, where we’ve been working with the Huu-ay-aht First Nation to bring much-needed veterinary care to this remote community. A few years ago, Jacquie returned to her ancestral village after a long absence and found her purpose in helping the community's dogs. Now, she’s leading the way in coordinating spay and neuter clinics for her community, ensuring that pets and their families are cared for. Recently Jacquie's beloved dog, Bebe was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament and urgently needed surgery— a costly procedure that far exceeded Jacquie's resources. Paws for Hope reached out to our caring community for help - and THEY answered! Thanks to our generous donors, the cost of Bebe’s surgery was covered. Jacquie has been instrumental in improving the lives of countless pets and families in Anacla, and we were so happy that we could help her and Bebe. As Jacquie says, owning a dog brings immense joy and comfort: "They make my days easier... just knowing that someone truly loves you for who you are." Thank you to all who help keep pet families happy, healthy, and together.

Bella, a 13-year-old Pom, was suddenly diagnosed with kidney failure earlier this month, requiring emergency care at Killarney Animal Hospital. The treatment cost over $1,800, a burden many families can't afford. Thankfully, Bella is enrolled in Paws for Hope’s Better Together Program, which covered 80% of the costs, allowing her to receive life-saving care. Bella is still recovering, but her family is hopeful. Sadly, many Canadian families face similar struggles with veterinary care costs. Recent polling shows that 1 in 5 families can't afford necessary care, and over 200,000 Canadians may be forced to surrender pets due to financial pressures. Paws for Hope's Better Together Program helps bridge this gap by offering discounted care and supporting families in need through community resources. This vital work wouldn't be possible without the support of the Paws for Hope community, helping families like Bella’s stay together and thrive. Read more about Bella and our Better Together program in our recent blog post https://lnkd.in/gaXRKFrf

Support our friend, Jacquie and Her Dog, Bebe! Jacquie has dedicated years to helping the dogs in her community. Since last year she has helped us bring much needed veterinary care to her community, Anacla (over the west coast of Vancouver Island). When Bebe needed expensive surgery we knew we had to help! We are happy to say the Bebe's surgery to repair his cruciate ligament was sucessful and he is recovering at home! But the surgery was expensive and we sure could use your help to recover the costs, which will enable us to help more families and their pets. By donating, you’re not only helping Bebe but also supporting Jacquie’s vital work improving animal welfare in remote areas. Donate today and make a difference for Bebe, Jacquie, and the many animals in need. https://lnkd.in/gzufG-DN
