Giving surgeons clarity on margins to act in the moment and close with confidence.
About us
Perimeter Medical Imaging AI is a pioneering medical technology company driven to transform cancer surgery with advanced imaging tools. We can’t imagine how frustrating it is for surgeons to do everything they can and still have to make the “dreaded call” to the patient. That’s why we developed our OCT technology that provides 10x the resolution of X-ray and ultrasound at 2mm imaging depth for real-time insight, so surgeons can act in the moment with greater certainty. A Toronto-based company established in 2013, with U.S. headquarters in Dallas, Texas, Perimeter seeks to harness the power of big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technology to further our mission of improving the standard of care, providing better long-term outcomes for patients, and reducing healthcare costs.

A thoughtful post from Victoria Wolodzko Smart of the Susan G. Komen Foundation on the American Cancer Society’s report last week highlighting the rise in #breastcancer among young women and the critical need for early diagnosis and access to life-saving care for all in need. https://lnkd.in/dhir697V
The American Cancer Society released the 2025 Cancer Facts and Figures today, and the news about breast cancer is sobering. More people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and 42,170 will lose their lives to metastatic breast cancer. While this is fewer than 2024, it's not enough to declare victory. I believe that breast cancer is still a public health crisis that needs attention, investment, and multi-sector collaboration to do better for the millions of patients and families impacted by the disease. Most important is the attention needed on the growing incidence in young women --those diagnosed under 40 -- many of which are from communities already underserved and experiencing inequities in care and outcomes. This excellent article in The New York Times outlines the issues with expert input from Susan G. Komen Chief Scientific Advisor Dr. Anne Partridge, interim chair of the Department of Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she also serves as co-founder and director of the Program for Young Adults with Breast Cancer. At Komen, we're honored to have one of the world's leading experts in breast cancer in young people guiding our efforts to save lives. What's driving this increase in incidence in younger women has been the subject of research for many years, and is thought to be caused by a combination of shifts in women’s fertility and environmental or lifestyle factors. This includes that age at onset of menstruation is dropping while age at first pregnancy is increasing as is age at menopause and alcohol use is increasing as is weight gain, while physical activity is decreasing. Unfortunately, younger women are not included in current screening guidelines, which means by the time they have any symptoms, get access to diagnostic tests, and receive a diagnosis, their cancer may be at later stages and spreading quickly. And that's assuming young women can easily get approval for insurance to cover the tests needed. This is why the Komen Center for Public Policy continues to advocate for coverage for all tests needed to ensure early diagnosis of breast cancer AND access to the lifesaving care needed by all. Sound government action is critical for making the broad, systemic and lasting changes we need to save lives. CEO Adrian Mendes shares a quick take on #JPM2025 last week.
It was great to see everyone this week at #JPM2025! Lots of energy and excitement. There was a general sense of optimism about deal resurgence and an uptick in financial transactions in the coming year. While it’s become almost cliché to talk about AI; having been involved in the AI technology industry for so many years, it's nice for me to finally see it beginning to be accepted as central to improving outcomes for patients so they can live longer, healthier lives. The marriage of healthcare and AI is one of the great strengths of Perimeter Medical Imaging AI and we're happy to see this trend continue to accelerate. $PINK.V $PYNKF

One in five people will get #cancer in their lifetime, and #breastcancer is the most common form, affecting 2 million women a year. Jenn shares her year-long cancer journey, including repeat surgeries that resulted in delayed recovery and emotional trauma. At Perimeter, we aim to reduce repeat surgeries due to cancer missed the first time.

In our latest webinar, Amani Jambhekar MD, MBA, FACS shares how OCT technology provides real-time clarity on margins in the operating room, allowing surgeons to make patient-specific decisions with confidence. Using light instead of sound, OCT reveals tissue features at the cellular-level with a strong correlation to postoperative pathology. Curious about how OCT works and its impact?
