    The Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) is pleased to announce the signing of a new 10-year agreement that will be recognized with naming of the Princess Auto Cricket Field at Assiniboine Park. A major upgrade of the Park’s cricket facilities to professional standards was completed over the past spring and summer. The redevelopment project included redesign of the existing field to create two full-size cricket pitches, turf replacement, and installation of a new irrigation system. New batting and bowling cages will be completed later this year. Assiniboine Park has been home to competitive cricket since the establishment of the Manitoba Cricket Association (MCA) in 1937. Participation in cricket in Manitoba has grown steadily over the years and there are now more teams and players in our province than ever before. APC’s partnership with the MCA continues to thrive and will grow as a result of these facility improvements, which will reinforce the Park’s reputation as the premiere cricket venue in Manitoba, support the development and training of cricket athletes, and increase opportunities to host local, regional, provincial, national, and international tournaments. While the facility upgrades are nearing completion, the new turf will need time to settle and be fully established before it can stand up to regular use. Active play is expected to resume in 2026. We are very pleased to support the continued growth of competitive cricket in Manitoba through the redevelopment of Assiniboine Park’s cricket facilities and grateful to Princess Auto Ltd. for their community leadership and generous support of this project.     Walter’s 65 years of dedicated service is nothing short of legendary. As Princess Auto’s longest serving Team Member, he has been a cornerstone of the Panet team since it first opened its doors and is known as the “King of Royal Service”. Walter’s journey with us began in 1959, a time when the world — and our company — looked very different. Over the decades he has witnessed incredible growth, helped thousands of customers, and has seen generations of Team Members pass through our doors. What has remained consistent throughout all these years is Walter’s unwavering commitment to Princess Auto and our Royal Service promise, his vast knowledge of the tools and equipment we provide, and his incredible ability to connect and build relationships. More than just a Team Member, Walter is a mentor, friend with a witty sense of humour and an inspiration to us all. His work ethic, kindness, and passion for serving customers played a big role in shaping our culture. We are very proud to say that Walter has chosen to be part of our Team for 65 years.     A new Princess Auto store is coming to Burlington, ON. We are renovating an existing building to create a 31,959 sq. ft store, so team members can provide remarkable experiences for figure-it-outers in the Burlington area. This location will be our 21st store in Ontario. “Our new Burlington location will allow us to better serve our customers who live in the growing market between Hamilton, Kitchener and Mississauga,” said Mike Kivell, Vice-President of Retail Operations for Ontario.     Yesterday marked an exciting start to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers CFL season at Princess Auto Stadium! Store Leaders from across the country joined our Team in Winnipeg to kick off the festivities. It is only because of our 3500 Team Members that we're able to build incredible community partnerships like this one. From the vibrant pre-game tailgate to the cheers for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, it was an unforgettable experience shared by our Team Members and their families. L’ouverture de la saison de la LCF des Blue Bombers de Winnipeg au Stade Princess Auto Stadium s'est déroulée hier de manière palpitante! Les Leaders de magasin d’un océan à l’autre se sont joints à notre équipe à Winnipeg pour donner le coup d’envoi aux festivités. C’est uniquement grâce à nos 3 500 membres d’équipe que nous sommes en mesure d’établir d’incroyables partenariats communautaires comme celui-ci. Qu’il s’agisse de la fête d’avant-match énergique ou des acclamations pour les Blue Bombers de Winnipeg, ce fut une expérience inoubliable vécue par nos Membres d’équipe et leurs familles.
