What Is Wet Granulation? The wet granulation process is the most widely used OSD method and involves multiple steps that transform a range of powders and ingredients into granules, which in turn are made into tablets. This method combines dry powders with a liquid binder, such as water or a solvent, to form a cohesive mass. This wet mass is then de-lumped (commonly called “wet milled”), dried, and milled once more to prepare the granules for tablet compression. The Overdriven Comil is the simplest and most economical Comil to maintain and operate. Available in four models, the Overdriven Comil has the widest capacity range - up to 120,000 lb/hr (54,500 kg/hr). With the largest number of screen and impeller options, almost any process requirements can be achieved. The Underdriven Comil has a smaller footprint, inline design and extremely short head height, easily integrating into smaller processing environments. A large diameter infeed and 'straight through' housing promote unhindered inline product flow for quicker discharge. With four models to choose from, the Underdriven Comil is scalable in capacity from several ounces to 35,000 lb/hr (15,900 kg/hr).
