How are Queen's University Health Sciences's MHPE Alumni Transforming Healthcare Education? Doris McDonald, a 2024 graduate of the Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) program, is already making waves in healthcare education with her impactful Capstone project. Her project focuses on incorporating the Indigenous Wellness Wheel, created by Shirley Chaisson, into lesson plans for Personal Support Workers, Practical Nursing, and Bachelor of Science students at St. Lawrence College. By integrating Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being into healthcare training, Doris aims to foster a more holistic, inclusive, and culturally safe approach to patient care. If you're inspired by Doris's work, imagine the possibilities with your own Capstone project in the MHPE program! Applications are now open for the next cohort. Apply by March 1, 2025, for priority consideration!
