Our mandate is to serve people with disabilities so they can flourish in life. This mandate and our very name – Rehoboth – are inspired by a verse in God’s word where Isaac names a watering well: Rehoboth. Genesis 26:22b. He named it Rehoboth, saying “Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land.” Rehoboth means “a broad place” in which one has capacity to live a full life.
Creating opportunities for growth, independence, and incision through building community, connections, and raising awareness and funds for adults with disabilities.
Make room. 👐 That's the basis of Rehoboth Christian Ministries' mandate. Yes, the focus is on adults with disabilities but we make room for all. A homeless man found himself in our newest social enterprise, Bridgespan Cafe & Grill, yesterday. He paid for a coffee, sat down, and read through our most recent newsletter. After his coffee, he appeared in our office area wanting to help. He was moved by what he read and even though he didn't have much to offer, he was offering. 🧡 He shared with us his story of tragedy and loss, explaining his journey is ongoing and he is open to what lands infront of him. Today, we landed infront of each other. We fed him. Anything he wanted was on the house. A simple cheeseburger with fries was all he wanted and was incredibly grateful for the meal. 🍔 🙏 We gave him hope.
