Students at RMHC Toronto School kicked off their health and physical education unit with an exciting field trip to the Hockey Hall of Fame! They participated in shooting and goalie simulations, practiced TSN broadcasting, and explored incredible hockey heroes and artifacts. A big shoutout to our front desk team for making the send-off so special! 🏒 #RMHC #RMHCToronto #KeepingFamiliesClose #FieldTrip

The Giving Machine has arrived at CF Toronto Eaton Centre! Unveiled yesterday on the second floor (right outside the Apple store), these special vending machines make holiday giving simple and impactful. This year, RMHC Toronto is proud to be featured as one of seven benefitting charities. With just a few taps, you can help provide snacks, school supplies, personal care items, and comfort to families staying close to their critically ill children during the holidays. 💛 At the unveiling event, we were proud to have our Director of Development, Melissa, speak about the incredible impact this initiative will have on the families we serve. Every dollar you donate goes straight to RMHC Toronto, thanks to the generosity of Giving Machines Toronto and Church of Jesus Christ. By covering all operating costs for the machines, they ensure your full contribution directly supports the charity you choose. Visit the Giving Machine now through December 8th and make your generosity count! 📷 Credits: Shawn Goldberg Photos #RMHC #RMHCToronto #KeepingFamiliesClose #TheGivingMachine

Happy #NationalChildDay! At RMHC Toronto, children are at the heart of everything we do. Today, we celebrate their courage, resilience, and joy - reminding us of the importance of creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, even during life’s most challenging moments. We celebrate the strength and determination of children like Sophie and her sisters, and why keeping families close is so important. For parents Madison and Riley, staying at RMHC Toronto meant they could focus on Sophie’s care while keeping their family together. “We definitely couldn’t stay together if Ronald McDonald House wasn’t an option,” shares Madison. “It’s impossible to pay for a house and your utilities and then pay for a hotel room or rent a condo.” Thankfully, RMHC Toronto provided Madison, Riley, and their two older daughters with a comforting place to stay close to Sophie, making an incredibly tough situation a little easier. Baby Sophie’s parents and her sisters, Blaire and Stella, stayed at RMHC Toronto for three months while Sophie received life-saving medical care – over 400 kilometers from home. Thanks to generous donors, this family was able to stay together, finding comfort and community in a safe space. Madison says, “I’d be completely lost without my girls. It would be so difficult not to have them with us. We definitely couldn’t stay together without Ronald McDonald House Toronto. We’re unbelievably thankful to everyone who supports this special charity." You can help shorten the distance to the hospital for families with seriously ill children, giving them a place to stay close together and near the care their child needs. On Saturday, October 26, we celebrated the RMHC Toronto School’s 20th anniversary with alumni, families, and community members! The special celebration featured interactive activities, a House tour, engaging learning sessions, and a BBQ lunch. Our guests heard inspiring words from Interim CEO Christina Scicluna, Principal Katie Doering, School Alumni Daniella Trotta and Iederf Carreon, VP of Development and Marketing Allison Urowitz, and Mayor Olivia Chow. “It’s not just about learning, it’s about caring,” Chow shared. “It’s really everything—you get to play, get to learn, get to have good food, and this is what Ronald McDonald House is all about.” Principal Katie Doering reflected on the school’s journey since its founding in 2004: “To see the school grow to where it is today, with dedicated staff, a purpose-built space, and learning options tailored to each family’s needs, means so much to me.” Katie, who has dedicated her career to ensuring children facing medical challenges receive quality education, spoke to the impact of building a place where every child feels supported. A huge thank you to everyone who celebrated with us! The RMHC Toronto School is a place of comfort, and growth. We’re so grateful to build this community together with supporters like you, who recognize the love, courage, and impact that make our school truly special. Today on #RemembranceDay, we pause to remember, reflect, and honour the strength, courage, and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. We are deeply grateful for their service.
