Seaspan Corporation reposted this
We are proud to release our 2023 Sustainability Report, the fourth annual report on our progress on Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. It covers activities carried out by Atlas along with its subsidiaries Seaspan Corporation (Seaspan) and APR Energy (APR) from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. In 2023, Atlas made significant strides in our ESG journey. Seaspan reduced greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 15% compared to 2022 and made significant investments in maritime fuel transition. APR continues to improve the overall environmental footprint of its power generation fleet by phasing out diesel reciprocating engines and offering new fuel-flexible turbines that can run on cleaner-burning fuels. In recognition of International Seafarers’ Day on June 25, the Seaspan team in Sri Lanka partnered with the #ArunodhyaFoundation to support and bring joy to children in need. The team supplied all the children with food and gifts, gave their community center a fresh coat of paint, fixed damaged beds, and engaged with them through an entertaining performance. The day ended with everyone sharing a meal, promoting unity. This initiative underscores our belief that people are our most valuable resource. On a global scale, Seaspan supports numerous community-based activities, ranging from charity tree-planting events to children's art competitions, 'friends and family' get-together events, blood donation drives, and more. The efforts of our Sri Lanka team exemplify our commitment to positively impacting the global communities where we operate. #SriLanka #InternationalDayoftheSeafarer #CommunityWork #SeaspanCares
