Bringing the lowest energy vertical farming systems to the masses through a franchise model, starting with rural areas.
About us
SkyAcres is a stealth AgriTech firm building a network of massively scalable, turnkey, small vertical farming operations through franchise-like partnerships. Our mission is to decentralize food production and alleviate the negative effects that the globalization of fresh produce production has on the climate, local economies, and our health. We do this by making fresh produce production accessible to all communities, regardless of climate, knowledge, or financial barriers. Through our years of research, we have developed an indoor fruit and vegetable farming device designed specifically for under-utilized spaces that can cost effectively grow food in any climate! Our advancements in low-energy, pumpless aeroponics, Agri-AI, and novel plant support geometries allow us to grow fresh fruits and vegetables beyond just leafy greens.

A busy panel 😎 featuring key stakeholders from accross the innovation ecosystem. Some startups that impressed me as potential solutions for Mongolia’s climate challenges: ✅Coal-to-Solar: Blue Sun (the UAE)- Integrated photovoltaics systems designed to turn any building into an electronic power generation station. ✅Circular Economy - Evolectric - CircularEV™ Solutions (USA) - extend the life of existing commercial vehicles to transition into a 100% electric. ✅Water shortages - SkyAcres Agrotechnologies Inc. (Canada) - supporting ecopreneurs through the lowest energy patent-pending Aeroponic system on the market. We’re into the final stretch for GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World 2024 in Dubai. It’s been inspiring at GITEX Impact to see hundreds of bright entrepreneurs, with so many focused on climate, sustainability, decarbonisation, and circular economy. 🎙 At GITEX Impact I enjoyed a specific panel on “Harnessing Climate Tech for Global Impact,” featuring representatives from Financiers, Accelerators, the Dubai Digital Chamber, Research Institutes, Scaling experts, and more - pictured. At one point the panel was asked, “what are the top technologies for climate action?” At IN2 we are focused on how 🌽 food security, 🚰 water security, and 🔌 energy security are key drivers of stability in the most rapidly warming regions - and on telling stories that help transition to sustainable ways of living and growing. It was heartening to hear the panelists named solutions across all three including: AgriTech particularly in the desert; solutions for Water Scarcity; and energy transition technologies. Satellites, drones, and of course AI were also mentioned! What really struck me at the conference more broadly is that while so much of the focus is on on getting ideas noticed and funded at the early stages (crucial), even participants and experts who see “big ideas” in climate through scale-up seem to overlook or deprioritise two elements: 🚀 Behaviour change - understanding what’s behind it so that big ideas can make the leap from thousands to millions of customers or users. This is best done when baked in from the start, rather than “build it first, communicate it later”. 💶 Finance and Less-developed economies - LDCs are where so much of the climate impact is happening. There is no shortage of potential solutions, but the finance is still very tracked into the investor-stake-ROI matrix, which reinforces that the better-resourced can both access solutions, and see an ROI from them. The climate finance required for big change required for a 1.5 - 2.0 C world is still locked up in risk-averse bodies, noting the gap to the tune of several $100s Billions per year for energy transition according to UNFCCC UN. A lot of the discussion there seems to revolve around First Loss. How can the conveners, ecosystem creators, and experts in the tech and entrepreneurial community, use their innovative spirit for financial challenges? Keen to hear the thoughts from inside and outside my network - tag someone who has a view! Abbas Kazmi Ashish (Ash) Puri Bolormaa Luvsandorj Elvina Garayeva Hans Larsen Lewis Chen Linzi Boyd Miniya Chatterji Pratap Raju Fun afterthought - it was great to sample some "Water-from-Air" from local provider Ma Hawa. #sustainability #climatetech #positivechange
