The Coast Karma Learning Group from Craig Street Commons visited SOS to spread Christmas kindness to our families in need! They chose two SOS Angel Ornaments and went shopping for gifts for a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. The kids said they enjoyed the project and were proud of the gifts they brought for our Toy Shop. Employees from RBC in Oceanside came by to admire our Toy Shop and what their support has helped create for residents in need. This year, local RBC branches have volunteered in our Thrift Shop, which came with a $1,500 grant, and they volunteered at the Tigh-Na-Mara Toy Drive, which came with another $1,500 grant! The branch in Qualicum Beach also has an Angel Tree, collecting in-demand gifts for the SOS Toy Shop. We received a delivery of 42 filled Christmas stockings from the Qualicm Beach Area Newcomers Alumni (QBANA) for our Stocking program! Pictured here are QBANA members Eleanor and Birthe. The SOS Stocking program is an initiative of the local Newcomers groups. The Qualicum Beach Newcomer's Club and QBANA fill the stockings and gift bags with small gifts like soaps, toques, ornaments, books and socks, and SOS Volunteers deliver them to isolated seniors (65+) who are clients of SOS.
