Ontarians want more #homecare and we're ready to deliver 16.5M more hours of care where they want it – at #homenothallways. Check out Home Care Ontario’s solutions to continue to build Ontario’s home care workforce and improve care for seniors at homenothallways.ca #ONpoli
Ontario’s growing home care sector is ready to take on a greater role and deliver 16.5M more hours of home care to Ontarians. That is why I’m pleased to launch our new #HomeNotHallways🏡 campaign. It's time to break the cycle of trying the same old solutions over and over that’s only resulted in worsening hallway health care and an ever expanding LTC wait list. Seniors deserve better. Ontarians deserve better. It is time for a new approach and home care is the only solution that can meet the needs of our rapidly aging population. Government has purpose-built our home care system to deliver more care. As a result, we have highly skilled professional home care staff in place with immediate capacity who could deliver 16.5 million more hours of home care for seniors across the province. This ‘home first’ approach will actually reduce hospital wait times and help our seniors age at home, where they want to be. We need to seize this opportunity and greatly expand the home care system so we can meet the increased demand we know is coming. Check out our plan ➡️ www.homenothallways.ca and 💬 Comment and share if you agree! #ONpoli

Today at the Home Care Ontario Symposium, critical conversations about the future of home care are taking center stage. We are excited to share that Sandra Ketchen, CEO of Spectrum Health Care and Board Chair of Home Care Ontario, is playing a key role in leading these discussions today about the growing need for a strong and sustainable home care system to support Ontarians at home. With Ontario’s senior population projected to grow by 15% in the next five years, today’s symposium will be focusing on learning and discussing the challenges and opportunities that face the future of the Ontario health system and ensuring quality care can be delivered where it’s needed most - at home. #MoreHomeCare2024

Today, we had the honour of welcoming Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, MPP, Minister of Long-Term Care, to our newly expanded Mississauga Peel Ambulatory Clinic. With a capacity to support over 800 patient visits weekly, this clinic is designed to bring essential health care closer to home, providing transformative, patient-centered outcomes. Through the integration of expert care teams, advanced treatments, and collaborative partnerships with local hospitals and physicians, we’re committed to a seamless experience for each patient. By 2043, nearly 1 in 4 Canadians will be 65 or older! On International Day of Older Persons and beyond, it’s important to recognize that aging with dignity is a collective responsibility. Let’s continue advocating for person-centred care that addresses care worker shortages and respects the dignity, needs, and privacy of older adults while upholding their right to make decisions about their own care and quality of life. Explore this insightful article on how we can support Canadian seniors. https://buff.ly/3BnRuq6 #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons #AgingWithDignity
