Will visit again in the spring to see how the #trees #plants are doing! #landscapearchitecture - A Multiplex #IPD project #integratedprojectdelivery The engineer who walked the site with us said that the picnic table is well-used by the people who work here already! We try to create spaces that feel welcoming and unique, special - even in the smallest of areas. And I was told previously that this gorgeous wall is "the gem of the site". Wishing everyone a Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! We are fortunate to work with and for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples in our daily lives at SpruceLab, thinking always of all of our relatives, all creatures, land and water. Last week we had a wonderful tour of Kayanase - 'Restoring Mother Earth' (plant nursery in Six Nations of the Grand River), inspired by their growing and care of native plant species for projects such as those we work on. SpruceLab Inc. designed the landscape for the OmniaBio B Manufacturing Complex located in McMaster Innovation Park, inspired by the industrial heritage location. OmniaBio B is a groundbreaking commercial-scale cell and gene therapy manufacturing facility, intended to advance life sciences and pioneering medicine to cure diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, diabetes, and more. A beautiful dry stone wall built by professional stonewallers celebrates the Niagara Escarpment nearby (Dean McLellan and Saugeen First Nation team), and the angular patterned paving suggests rusted steel and embodied energy (important in innovation!).
