SLI has received US$225 million in conditional funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to support the construction of #lithium processing facilities at the South West Arkansas Project. The Project is located in Lafayette and Columbia Counties, #Arkansas, and is expected to create up to 300 construction jobs and 100 direct jobs. David Park, CEO and Director of Standard Lithium stated: “This decision by the Department of Energy validates the caliber of the project we are building through our de-risked approach to project development, strong partnerships, methodical testing, and purpose-built processes tailored to meet the specific demands of large-scale lithium production in the Smackover Formation.” The provisional grant is one of the largest ever awarded to a U.S. #criticalminerals project and includes millions of dollars dedicated to community impact efforts that are expected to benefit the local community through infrastructure improvements, community health initiatives, educational partnerships, and workforce development programs. The Project is currently envisaged to produce up to 45,000 tonnes per annum of lithium carbonate, developed in two phases of 22,500 tonnes each. It is being developed in partnership with Equinor, which holds 45% interest in the jointly-owned subsidiary. “This funding is a strong endorsement of the South West Arkansas project and our efforts to develop a secure and sustainable domestic lithium supply chain. The grant will enable us to accelerate the development of this world-class resource and position the project as a cornerstone of the U.S. battery materials industry,” said Dr. Andy Robinson, COO and Director of Standard Lithium. The provisional grant is dependent on completing successful final negotiations with the DOE. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/g8Zeqd2K

We continue to advance and de-risk our portfolio with the operation of a pilot direct lithium extraction (DLE) plant at the South West Arkansas project. "The pilot DLE plant is using real brine, collected in real-time from one of our Project wells...to produce an intermediate lithium chloride solution," said Dr. Andy Robinson, President, Director and COO of SLI. The lithium chloride solution will serve two purposes: 1. it will provide lithium carbonate samples produced directly from the Project that will be used in negotiations with possible off-take partners and; 2. it will help the Joint Venture in selecting our preferred carbonate equipment vendor. Dr. Robinson added: "This field-based pilot DLE plant is the final step in ensuring that we have exactly the right data to confirm our design and be sure that we know how our commercial plant will operate once constructed.” The South West Arkansas Project is a Joint Venture between Standard Lithium and Equinor ASA. Located in Lafayette and Columbia Counties, Arkansas, Phase 1 of the project is targeted to produce up to 22.5 ktpa of lithium carbonate as soon as 2028. #ICYMI: Stifel analyst Cole McGill hosted a virtual fireside chat in November with our CEO, David Park, COO Andy Robinson and CFO Salah Gamoudi, CPA. Our team was excited to share key milestones SLI achieved in 2024 that helped to de-risk the business, including: forming the JV partnership with Equinor, installation of the commercial direct lithium extraction column at the Demo Plant, and receipt of the $225M conditional grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Employees are our most valued resource at Standard Lithium. Our Arkansas Demonstration Plant and other operations employ approximately thirty Arkansans. As appreciation for their hard work and dedication, we gifted each smoked turkeys to share with their friends and family this #Thanksgiving week. Thank you to Burge's, located in Lewisville, #Arkansas for partnering with us to share our gratitude.

"Now, it’s time for us to prioritize, focus and execute. We look forward to working with Equinor to advance SWA through DFS and FEED, and concurrently progress East Texas where we see the potential to develop what could be one of the best lithium resources in the world. We have a team that’s focused on building long-term value for our shareholders, and we plan to do so by continuing to deliver on our commitments and prioritizing our lowest cost of capital options to finance the next phase of our Company’s growth." -David Park, SLI CEO and Director #ICYMI Listen to the fiscal Q1 2025 conference call here: https://lnkd.in/gjt_XtHg

It's Benchmark Week 2024, hosted by Benchmark Mineral Intelligence! Yesterday SLI CEO David Park served on the MESC Grants panel to discuss the recently announced round of grants and their potential impact to support the scaling of a U.S. domestic battery supply. SLI's $225 million conditional grant from the MESC and U.S. Department of Energy for Phase 1 of the South West Arkansas project was one of the largest ever received by a U.S. critical minerals project. Today we reported fiscal Q1 2025 results: https://lnkd.in/gmAKQN_Z “Our fiscal first quarter highlights demonstrate our commitment to doing what we say we’re going to do,” said David Park, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Standard Lithium. “We told you that we would pursue Government grants, and we have been conditionally approved for $225 million – one of the largest grant awards for a domestic critical minerals project – from the U.S. Department of Energy. The conditional grant is a testament to the world-class caliber of the South West Arkansas project and the good work the team has done to de-risk and advance the project now to a FEED stage.” “Now is the time for us to prioritize, focus and execute. Our attention turns to bringing production online for our shareholders, and the next right step for us is to move forward with customer off-take commitments and financing. We can then continue to advance, in partnership with Equinor, the South West Arkansas project and leasing foothold in East Texas.” #Arkansas #Lithium #Earnings #Q1
