We give all kids the best chance to live a long and healthy life.
About us
At the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, we do four things to give all kids the best chance to live a long and healthy life: 1. We raise money in support of advancing specialized children’s physical and mental health care; 2. We thank our donors by sharing with them the impact of their gifts on the lives of Stollery kids and their families from backyards across Alberta and beyond; 3. We educate our donors about the urgent needs of the Hospital and the importance of investing in the physical and mental health of kids and youth; and 4. We advocate for the urgent and emerging needs in pediatric physical and mental health care

When Layla was about four months old, her parents noticed she was fussier than her twin sister, and she was having a strange “startle reflex”. Layla ended up in the Emergency department at the Stollery Children’s Hospital where she had an EEG to scan her brainwaves. The neurologist on-call diagnosed her with infantile spasms, a rare seizure disorder. Medication helped to reduce the frequency of her seizures, but they were still happening every day. Layla’s neurology team worked hard to find the right medication to control her seizures. Read more about Layla's story and the expert care at the Stollery: https://lnkd.in/gr8CHWa5

Meet Dr. Jess Foulds — a pediatric hospitalist, associate professor and program director for general pediatrics at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. 👋 Dr. Foulds started at the Stollery in 2009 as a trainee and has now been working as a pediatrician since 2013. She helps look after patients when they are admitted to Hospital under the general pediatrics team. When she is not working on the wards at the Stollery, Dr. Foulds oversees the General Pediatrics Residency Training Program, helping to develop the next generation of pediatricians. In her spare time, she loves baking, running, ultimate frisbee and being outside hiking. Read Dr. Jess Foulds full Q&A here: https://bit.ly/432LJcV

It's Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week! 📅💜 Did you know that the Stollery is the most specialized children's hospital in Western Canada where kids can go for complex heart surgeries? This specialized care makes a life-changing difference for kids like Isabella. Isabella loves dancing, gymnastics, skiing and biking! After being born with a rare congenital heart defect, she has had multiple open-heart surgeries, with her first one at just six days old. Isabella’s family is grateful to have the hub for pediatric heart surgery in Western Canada right in their backyard, and to the donors who support the care kids like Isabella receive at the Stollery.
