It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of John McKnight, a kind-hearted visionary and thought leader who centred people in community work through Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). John profoundly influenced our work at Tamarack and our approach to deepening community and centring assets in solutions. We are all grieving the loss of such a wonderful man and may your happy memories of John give you peace. His passion for ABCD strengthens our resolve to incorporate this practice into every community across Canada. We will soon share ways we plan to honour John's legacy through upcoming projects and initiatives.

Tamarack is a proud co-founder of the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience | Centre canadien pour la résilience numérique (CCNDR). We are happy to share that our President & CEO, Danya Pastuszek, is one of the newly formed Advisory Council's members. Her commitment to building data and digital capacity in communities and to connecting local communities' needs and national policy and practice will support CCNDR's mission. And we are grateful to the many people who have contributed to bringing CCNDR to this point.

Registration is now open for the Climate Ready Infrastructure Service (CRIS), a new project facilitated by the Canadian Urban Institute that connects local governments with leading climate experts to implement low-carbon infrastructure across Canada. 🍁 Tamarack Institute is proud to be partnering with the Canadian Urban Institute on this, to share the opportunity with our network of municipalities, recruit climate equity experts to the roster, and support with bringing an equity lens to the project. 🔎 This service offers financial compensation and professional development for independent contractors and firms, while providing local governments with decision-making support for climate-resilient infrastructure projects. Local governments and climate experts are invited to register to collaborate on projects that advance both climate resilience and low-carbon solutions.
