Last weekend, I had the opportunity to see the event my team, Team 1241: THEORY6, had been planning for six months, come to life. 🎊 The Girls+ in STEAM Olympics was a day filled with innovation, collaboration, and inspiration. From workshops to an Innovation Fair featuring passionate companies, it was rewarding to see the positive impact on the next generation of women in STEAM. As a co-moderator for the Women in STEAM Panel, I led discussions with incredible panellists—Lisa Maria Ramraj, Aaiman Aamir, Fatima Imdad, and Lavanya Natarajan—who openly shared not only their achievements but also the unique challenges they faced in their careers. Recognizing these struggles is essential for building a more supportive STEAM environment, where everyone can feel empowered to pursue their passions without barriers.  A heartfelt thank you to Kim Cooper for giving me the confidence to step up, and to Shahroze Rao and Chehek V. for being amazing co-directors and trusting me throughout this journey. Thank you to everyone who joined, contributed, and supported our mission. Here’s to building a stronger, more inclusive future in STEAM! ❤️ #GirlsInSTEAM

It was a great pleasure being part of the panel for the Girls in STEM Olympics event! It’s always heartwarming to be among the future leaders of STEAM. The energy and spark in each girl's eyes, filled with sharp goals and dreams for the future, were incredible. The thoughtful questions they asked are a testament to a bright and compassionate future ahead. And must add the FRC #FRC1251 bot built by this group of girls is phenomenal! More power to them !! And receiving a handwritten note is always precious. Thank you, Girls in STEM Olympics for having me!

Volunteering and serving as a judge for the Girls+ in STEAM Olympics (GISO) 2024 was amazing! It was an incredibly insightful and fulfilling experience to be part of an event that emphasizes growth and learning for high school girls+ in STEAM. Working at CDW has provided direct insight into the positive impact that support from leaders and mentors has on women aspiring to enter the industry and build successful careers. Chehek V. and Shahroze Rao did an outstanding job directing this event, ensuring it provided valuable opportunities for girls to learn, collaborate as a team, and network with industry leaders. I look forward to future GISO events that will empower and connect the next generation of STEAM talent!

Whenever we find ourselves in places and stages of privilege, it's vital to find ways to share that stage and uplift others. I was incredibly honored when Marwa Zaryab reached out to me to moderate a panel for the upcoming Girls+ in STEAM Olympics. Recognizing her passion and dedication as a part of this event's planning committee, and her talent as a first-year Systems Design Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, what better way to elevate this experience than to invite her to co-moderate with me! Together, we'll be leading a discussion with an incredible lineup of industry leaders—Lisa Maria Ramraj, Fatima Imdad, Lavanya Natarajan, and Aaiman Aamir. Excited that Marwa's insights and enthusiasm will enrich our conversation and inspire others. Open doors, share the stage, and embrace opportunity! #WomenInSTEAM #ShareTheStage #STEMOlympics Image description: Girls+ in STEAM Olympics (GISO) 2024 moderators with industry panelists
