To all my Canadian LinkedIn connections, would you mind answering the question below in the comments please? Trying really hard to advocate for OT to be included in insurance plans. TIA! 🙏🏽

🎉 That's a wrap for 2024! 💪 It's been a year of significant professional development activities and accomplishments for me this year. I wouldn't have been able to do it without the collaborative support of my mentors, colleagues, friends, and family: • Publication of 2 articles in Occupational Therapy Now, continued workshops in cognitive rehabilitation and Adult ADHD, a lunch webinar, the launch of the ADHD and Occupational Therapy Practice Network, and speaking with Justine V. Jecker on the OT Conversations that Matter Podcast through The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). • Publication of my article, "Time Unbound: Managing Time Blindness at Work" in Attention Magazine, and presenting at a conference on Health Management for ADHD Clients in Anaheim, California through CHADD (Children and Adults with ADHD) • Provided my first co-presentation at the Schedule 2 Employers' Group conference on Concussion Management and Return to Work. • Becoming certified in the Multi-Context Approach for Cognitive Rehabilitation under occupational therapy's field leader, Joan Toglia • Co-published my first book with Dr. Maryna Mammoliti: Saving Lives Without Destroying Yours: Boundaries for the Modern Physician. • Becoming an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. • Receiving the Faculty of Health Sciences Young Alumni Award from Western University, nominated by an amazing professor, Marie Savundranayagam, PhD, FGSA who counselled me to pursue occupational therapy. I am looking forward to the opportunities and projects coming up in 2025! #newyears #occupationaltherapy #professionaldevelopment #careerdevelopment #occupationaltherapist

I am thrilled to announce that Gabrielle Bazinet, Melanie Lao and I’s research abstract (supervised by Dr. Mary Egan and Dr. Darene Toal-Sullivan) has been accepted to be presented at The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) 2025 conference in Edmonton. Our project focused on understanding how student occupational therapists learn through offering ‘occupational performance coaching’ (OPC) in a novel mental health fieldwork placement. We are honoured to be given the opportunity to share our findings and connect with other clinicians and researchers!
