A few takeaways from our Crown Corporate Governance Conference.
The first day of the Canadian Institute’s Crown Corporate Governance conference is a wrap! Thank you PwC (Scott Pegg ) for sponsoring a much-needed cocktail after a packed day of brilliant insights and strategies! 🔵 Courtney Drew and Alexandra Schwarz provided invaluable advice re EDI on Boards; 🔵 Our co-chair Frederic Duguay moderated an amazing panel on onboarding Directors (Pascale Daigneault, Graeme Bromby, Christa Walker) 🔵We learned a ton about provincial Crown Corps from AB (Aaron Friedenthal, ICD.D), SK (Eryn Siba); ON (Quirien Muylwyk, P.Eng., ICD.D) and QC (Johanne Brunet) and WOW are they different! 🔵 We were blessed with the helpful advice of not one, nor two, but three ADM/AADMs on how to foster trust and strong dialogue between crown corps and their ministries. Thank you Randy Jackiw, Elenore Arend, Greg Reade and our wonderful moderator Andrew Gowing! We also hosted a panel on advancing Indigenous governance and reconciliation - this panel has given such food for thought that I need to make a seperate post about it! 🌟Thank you to the attendees for your excellent questions and comments. 🌟 Can’t wait for Day 2!
