Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve and no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. As a result, medications such as antibiotics become less effective, making infections difficult or impossible to treat. In Canada, it is estimated that 1 in 4 infections are resistant to the first line of treatment. #WAAW is an opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of AMR and promote best practices. For more information on antibiotic use in animals, visit https://lnkd.in/gvm3zzj5.

The College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, and the Ontario Veterinary College have formed a collaboration to raise awareness of mental health and well-being in veterinary teams in Ontario. Today, we launch a campaign to encourage mental health awareness in veterinary workplaces: TeamCheck, For a Healthy Vet Team and Workplace. The campaign will focus on tips and tools to guide veterinary teams in supporting workplace mental health.
