Closing an Incredible Chapter with IPD
As we step into the holiday season, I want to share that I have officially stepped down from my role as Executive Director of the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy (IPD). Founding and leading IPD has been the most rewarding professional experience of my life. When I co-founded IPD in 2018, it was with the vision of creating a platform for nuanced, interest-based thinking in Canadian foreign policy and fostering rigorous debate among diverse perspectives. Six years later, I am proud to see IPD evolve into one of Canada’s most active foreign policy research institutes, while also establishing and expanding its presence in the United States since 2022.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of so many people. I am deeply grateful to our advisors, fellow researchers, mentors, and the talented current and former staff who have helped build and grow IPD into the successful organization it is today.
Leaving an organization that I co-founded and have built over the years was not an easy decision. However, I felt it was the right time to pursue a new opportunity—one that offers exciting challenges, high potential for growth, and the chance to focus on topics I’ve grown increasingly passionate about through my work at IPD.
As I embark on this new professional journey, I will watch IPD’s continued success with great enthusiasm. With a strong transition plan in place and new leadership at the helm, I am confident that IPD will continue to thrive and achieve new heights. Stay tuned for more details from IPD in early January.
I look forward to sharing more about my next chapter soon. Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!
