Success requires more than endless activity. Rest allows your body and mind to recharge, so you can return to tasks with renewed focus and energy. Mentorship can be a great tool for challenging the "grind mindset" in view of a balanced, sustainable approach to success. Mentors can share their own stories of overcoming burnout, achieving balance, and finding success without constant overwork. A mentor can model setting limits on work hours, advocating for time off, and emphasizing quality over quantity. A mentor can encourage mentees to recognize progress, fostering gratitude and preventing the constant push for more. #MentorMonday #thegrind #success #boundaires #breaks #rest #mentorship #wellbeing #mentors #gratitude #support #education

The Mentoree promotes professional learning, well-being, and efficacy through a supportive mentorship community.
About us
The Mentoree offers various forms of supportive mentorship for educators including: 1:1 Mentorship, the OnEdMentors podcast, Conversations to Build Capacity, Mpact and Motivators. As a social enterprise, connection is our most valuable currency and is at the centre of all we do. The Mentoree is a division of Building Outside the Blocks. Building Outside the Blocks creates non-prescriptive opportunities for learning in and beyond schools in boardless and borderless ways. Educators deserve to have the support they need to grow and, in turn, support their learners. Great things were never constructed from comfort zones; try building outside the blocks and see where it takes you.

I finally met Jim Strachan in person last week. He is such a kind a giving person, and I deeply enjoyed our mentorship-oriented conversation, ultimately, unpacked this quote.
Being mentored creates opportunities for reflection and learning, which are foundational to growth. Educators may have the title of mentor, but there are actions required for one to actually be mentored. Mentoring requires effort, intentionality, and engagement. Jim Strachan is an influential educator, consultant, and advocate for teacher professional development in Canada, particularly in Ontario. He has played a significant role in mentoring and supporting educators throughout his career. Strachan is widely recognized for his expertise in educational leadership and his ability to foster collaborative, reflective teaching practices. He is best known for his Mentoring for All https://lnkd.in/g7dcBaBP, which feeds the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) that he helped catalyse in Ontario. He recently added Mentoring for Mentors: https://lnkd.in/gB4afkve #MentorMonday #education #mentoring #mentoringwebs #mentoringrelationships #beingmentored #mentoringforall #mentoringformentors

We have learned through 5 years of supporting teachers at every stage of their careers how much value there in exercising agency when it comes to learning and wellbeing.
When we give people true ownership over their work - the freedom to shape their schedule, choose their approach, and chart their path - we unlock their innate drive to excel. This isn't just about flexibility; it's about tapping into the fundamental human need for self-direction. The research is clear: autonomy isn't a perk, it's a performance multiplier.

It's easy to get overwhelmed by challenges in education, but many are out of our control. Mentoring can help us move beyond worrying about what we can't change and focus, instead, on exercising agency, creating solutions, and build resilience. #MentorshipMindset #MentorMonday
