Did you know that The Redwood Theatre has been working on bringing some of Toronto's legendary venues back to life? The Orbit Room is our favourite, and one that lost it's venue due to the problem of the landlord refusing to help with rent relief during covid. We welcome the incredible Tim Notter, and the Orbit Room bands to the Redwood as part of our community. A tribute to my native land Venezuela featuring some of the top string players in Canada. TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW at: theredwoodtheatre(dot)com I’ve been telling you a bit about the musicians that will accompany me on Oct 5th and today I’d like to talk to you about Clara who will play viola with us. Clara Nguyen-Tran is an active and versatile performer of solo, chamber and orchestral music. She has performed and recorded with various artists including Charlotte Cardin, Rêve, and STORRY. As an orchestral musician, Clara regularly performs with many orchestras across Ontario including the Canadian Opera Company, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Esprit Orchestra, and Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. She also dabbles in musical theatre and played in the Toronto run of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 this past year. Clara completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto under the tutelage of Eric Nowlin and Teng Li. She also holds an Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School where she studied with Steven Dann. On Oct 5th, she will debut with the Angel Falls String Quartet at the Redwood Theatre, led by myself and Jeremy Ledbetter, with special guest Luis Anselmi on cuatro, we’ll celebrate my Venezuelan cultural heritage through music.
