We’re excited to share the publication of a new article authored by Dr. Anam Khan and Dr. Michael Ungar, "Un/heard, un/informed, un/involved: Meaningful participation for young people receiving child welfare services", in The British Journal of Social Work. This paper explores the critical issue of child participation in child welfare services (CWS), focusing on young people's lived experiences. The findings suggest that involving children in casework, including decisions regarding placement, has the potential to foster trust in care providers, improve cooperation and access to formal and informal supports, and enhance their well-being. #ChildWelfare #YouthParticipation #SocialWork #CWS #ChildRights #WellBeing #ResearchMatters #YouthVoice We invite you to read the full article to delve into these findings and explore how meaningful participation can improve outcomes for young people receiving CWS. https://lnkd.in/dvQkQhEc

Thank you to Michael Ungar for his article, "Send the Kids Outdoors, Improve their Mental Health," published in Psychology Today which highlights our nature-based intervention called 'École à Ciel Ouvert' our website : https://lnkd.in/g3SBDwCg As Dr Ungar writes: "We’ve had suspicions for some time that putting our children outdoors away from screens and in close contact with nature had to be good for their mental health. The spikes in anxiety disorders so many educators are dealing with in their classrooms had to have solutions. Low cost, and easy to implement, it turns out that time in nature with some structured programming can significantly decrease children’s self-reported symptoms of problems like depression and anxiety." https://lnkd.in/g_kR5xfD.
