📣 Inspiring the Next Generation of Black Engineers with Dalhousie University! 📣 On October 24th, African Nova Scotian high school students from PREP Academy had the chance to dive into the world of engineering at Dalhousie University’s Sexton Campus. They explored labs, worked with robots, built their own flashlights, and met Black engineering students and mentors who shared their experiences and insights. Here’s what Sherida Sherry Hassanali, Assistant Dean, EDIA, had to say about the event: "The PREP Academy @ Sexton event was a wonderful opportunity for high school students to dream about possibilities...It was truly joyful to see the PREP Academy participants so excited, and highly engaged." At the Black Educations Association Parent Summit, our Executive Director Ashley Hill shared PREP's mission and introduced parents to the unique experiences and initiatives we offer to support their children's educational journeys. 🎓 At the 30th Annual Africentric Conference, we heard from the inspiring Dr. Chike Akua 💫 As we explored teaching approaches that center our African histories, cultures, and languages to enrich student learning. 🌐 Thanks to the Black Educators Association and the 30th Annual Africentric Conference for having us again this year! 💙🧡
