  • 🌍⚡ The Future of EVs in Canada ⚡🌍 As Canada races toward a sustainable future, achieving more than 50% EV penetration by 2030 is no small feat. At Thunder Inc., we believe the key lies in robust and forward-thinking infrastructure planning. 🚗🔋 Here’s what it will take: ✅ 260,000 to 390,000 Public Chargers To support over 13 million EVs on Canadian roads by 2030, we’ll need a dramatic expansion of public charging infrastructure. ✅ 23,000 to 75,000 DC Fast Chargers Critical for long-distance travel and reducing range anxiety, especially in Canada's vast rural and remote regions. ✅ Collaboration and Innovation 70–80% of EV charging will happen at home, but building networks in urban centers and highway corridors will unlock true EV adoption. ⚡ Why It Matters With just 20,000 public chargers currently installed nationwide, the time to accelerate is now. A clean, green future requires us to think bigger and act faster. What are your thoughts on Canada’s EV future? Share below! #Sustainability #EVRevolution #Canada #CleanEnergy #ThunderInc

  • China leading the race towards full EV adoption Electric vehicle (EV) registrations, including battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), reached a record high in China in September, surpassing 1.1 million units—a 51% year-over-year increase. Both powertrain types contributed to this surge. BEV registrations rose by 29% to approximately 644,000 units, while PHEVs saw a remarkable 97% jump, reaching around 479,000 units. Notably, September marked the fourth consecutive month of record-breaking volumes for PHEVs.  EVs accounted for 53% of China’s new-car market in September, with BEVs alone making up 31% of total deliveries. Within the EV segment, BEVs captured 57% of registrations, PHEVs held 32%, and extended-range models (EREVs) claimed the remaining 11%.  In the first nine months of 2024, roughly 7.3 million EVs were delivered, a significant increase from the 5.4 million units registered during the same period in 2023. Year-to-date, EVs have held a 47% market share, with BEVs representing 27%. This reflects a growth from 37% EV market share in the same period of 2023, where BEVs accounted for 25%. While BEVs have improved their market share by two percentage points (pp), PHEVs are expanding at a faster pace, with their share growing by approximately 8pp year-over-year.  At this pace, EVs are projected to hold around 50% of the market by year-end, indicating that the push toward full electrification by 2030 remains on track. #EV #China #BYD #Tesla #Auto #News #Futuremobility #Electric

  • How Trump's Presidency Could Impact Tesla and the Electric Vehicle Industry Key Takeaways : President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to ease stringent vehicle emissions standards and reduce government support for electric vehicles (EVs).  Despite Trump's anti-EV stance, his relationship with Tesla CEO Elon Musk raises uncertainty about the extent to which he will follow through on these promises.  Analysts predict Detroit's Big Three automakers could gain from a slower EV rollout. At the same time, Tesla might benefit from the potential elimination of the Biden-era $7,500 EV tax credit, given its proven ability to produce profitable EVs. #Tesla #Elon #Trump #EV #GM #Stellantis #Ford #Autonews #Auto

  • The Biden administration plans to award General Motors and Chrysler-parent Stellantis nearly $1.1 billion in grants to convert existing plants to build electric vehicles and components, it said on Thursday last week. The Department of Energy (DOE) announced $1.7 billion in planned grants to help fund the conversion of 11 “at risk” plants in eight states to enable the production of 1 million EVs annually, help retain 15,000 existing jobs, and create 3,000 new positions. #EV #US #Generalmotors #Stellantis #News #automotive #update
