Last year I posted this information on unapproved potentially dangerous walkin cooler and freezer panels. The problem is not improving, off shore and even local manufacturers are dumping products onto the market without guarantees of performance, electrical safety or fire resistance. This is dangerous and may have severe financial consequences. Loss of insurance coverage, high utility costs and poor performance. There is a serious problem in the refrigeration industry. Unapproved insulated panels are entering Canada and The US without any necessary safety, fire resistance, energy use or electrical approvals. With the trade nickname "walkin" these products are an important piece in all commercial kitchens. Manufacturers are obligated to pay for these approvals to guarantee the safe use by employees and in the event of a fire, helping to protect first responders.
