Gooood Moooorning, TO! 🌞📈 The State of Skills Report highlights the challenges and opportunities in Canadian youth employment. With unemployment among youth at 14% in mid-2024 (up 5% from pre-pandemic levels), it's clear: action is needed to address systemic barriers and foster inclusive growth. 💡 Key Findings: 🔹 Youth face higher unemployment risks: Economic downturns disproportionately impact youth, often employed in vulnerable sectors like retail and hospitality. 🔹 Barriers to success: Many youth, especially racialized and Indigenous, face discrimination, limited workforce ties, and gaps in access to career information. 🔹 Integrated solutions: Programs combining upskilling, mental health support, and career guidance show promise. Initiatives like Reboot Plus and NPower demonstrate how wrap-around supports (e.g., childcare, transit) can boost participation and outcomes. 🔹 Tech + personal touch: While digital tools can enhance career navigation, in-person support remains essential for effective guidance and meaningful impact. 🔹 Future readiness: Programs like ELITE empower youth with skills in robotics and automation, aligning their careers with in-demand industries. 📈 These insights underscore the need for comprehensive approaches to ensure young Canadians thrive in a changing labour market. 🔗 Download the report to learn more: https://ow.ly/1CAp50UkSQg #StateOfSkills #FutureOfWork #YouthEmployment #TorontoLabourMarket #SkillsForSuccess #InclusiveGrowth

Gooood Moooorning, TO! 🌟 Gender parity in leadership? North America is 95 years away, says @WXN’s latest report. 🚨 Women hold only 1 in 10 CEO roles and <25% of exec leadership positions. How do we change this? ✅ Raise awareness: Break gender bias through allyship, training, and ERGs. ✅ Reform policies: Make parental leave and flexible work more inclusive. ✅ Advance women: Promote multiple women to leadership for better The pace is glacial—gender parity in Canada won’t arrive until 2129 without action. Gooood Moooorning, TO! Did you catch StatCan's newly dropped deep dive into gender earning disparities across Canada’s population groups? The findings are 👀-opening. DYK? 🔹Black workers: Highest gender earnings ratio (83.9%), yet Black men earn the least among all groups, highlighting systemic barriers for men and women. 🔹Japanese workers: The lowest gender earnings ratio (59%) with men earning the most of any group—exposing significant inequities within this group. 🔹White & Southeast Asian women: Saw the most progress in earnings parity (1996–2016), but Black & South Asian workers saw little to no improvement. 🔹Key drivers: Differences in weekly hours worked, sector, and occupational distribution explained much of the gaps. For instance, women are more likely to work in unionized jobs but face sector and role concentration challenges. 🔹Sector impacts: Health care shows stark contrasts—Filipino women lead with the highest gender earnings ratio (86.1%), while Arab women lag at 56.3%. 📈 This study underscores how cultural, occupational, and systemic factors shape gender earnings gaps across communities. 👉 Read more at the link 👉 https://ow.ly/362H50UhKNL & while you're at it, if you haven't had a chance to check our 'Diversity Profiles Report', read now! 🔗 https://ow.ly/1VeR50UhKNK 💡 #GenderPayGap #TorontoJobs #LabourMarketInsights #InclusiveWorkforce #EarningsEquity
