  • 💨Deep breath... An epic 2024... in under 2 minutes! Town Staff challenged Mayor Tom Mrakas to list as many of Aurora’s 2024 accomplishments as possible in 2 minutes — inspired by NZ's iconic 2019 moment. Here’s what made the list: Opened Aurora Town Square, secured $5M+ in community donations, acquired 28+ acres for parks, launched a windrow removal program, held 90+ public meetings, increased canopy coverage to 35%, finalized the Official Plan, and hosted our first PRIDE Luau. We planted trees, resurfaced trails, opened new playgrounds, signed the Dear Everybody Agreement, and celebrated 60 years of the Aurora Art Show......Oh, and 200K+ social media views!

  • 🎁 A HUGE thank you to the incredible Aurora Community for your amazing support in this year's Toys for Tickets campaign! Thanks to your generosity, we collected $2, 475 in paid ticket donations, of toys, food and gift cards! 🎅 All these contributions are going straight to York Regional Police’s Holiday Heroes campaign, helping children and families in need throughout Aurora and Newmarket. Your kindness and holiday spirit are truly inspiring. Together, we’re making a difference! 🎄
