Cities are where we call home. We know they’re far from perfect — and utterly besieged by cars — but we’re fiercely passionate about making them better places to live, raise kids, and grow old. It’s why we’re working so hard to make car-free transportation the default way of getting around, and help transform our cities for the better. Here’s our vision for Transit and the future of cities: vision.transitapp.com ✨ ~~ Les villes sont notre chez-nous.

Tomorrow at CUTA Fall, Laurence Lui from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) will join us at the Transit booth (#517) to demo how the TTC keeps riders up-to-date on detours in the Transit app. But we have one more surprise up our sleeve... 🤫 We've run detour simulations for dozens of agencies in our new Detours Dashboard, the hub for monitoring detours across your network. Come by at 11AM to see all the ones that we discovered for your agency!

Taylor Swift isn’t the only celebrity sojourning in Toronto this month. On November 19 our very own superstars Kaj, Allison, Jake, Kerra, David, Brigitte, and Christine will be headlining an immersive all-day experience at the CUTA Fall Annual Conference. All eyes will be on booth 517 of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, where we’ll be rolling out some of our greatest hits and turning up the volume on recent releases: 🍁 We’ve been hard at work with Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to bring detours to the Transit app. Join us at the Transit booth Tuesday 11am for a special demo with Laurence Lui, TTC’s Head of Service Planning and Scheduling. 🏙️ We sent our engineers into the depths of New York City’s subway system to unearth our latest update: GO Underground. No signal on the subway? Weak GPS on the metro? Transit’s new subterranean ally has finally emerged: offline motion detection, now in GO 🚇📱🚆 No more craning your neck to check those digital screens or trying to decode staticky stop announcements. Now you can keep track of your journey in Transit just like your fellow surface-dwellers. Did we build the world’s first subterranean GPS? Nope: it’s just math. Dig deep into the 400,000 trips and clever engineering that made it possible: https://lnkd.in/ewxityYG

They say you should never meet your heroes… unless your hero is Jarrett Walker and you’re huge fans of ‘Human Transit’. Jarrett stopped by our Montreal office for a quick 5 à 7 (and impromptu book signing) on the way to ATUQ. Along with Kevin Manaugh, Zvi Leve, MSc, E. Owen Waygood, and Jérôme Laviolette, we jumped on the chance to chat about everything from fare systems to maps and how we can create great bus services in Quebec and beyond. Thanks for visiting Jarrett! You’re welcome at Transit HQ any time 👋
