Trigon's Kalahari Copper Project has been selected as 1 of only 3 projects to participate in the €5M EU-funded UNDERCOVER research initiative! This research program will span three years starting January 1, 2025, focusing on developing innovative methods for successful exploration of Critical Raw Materials under cover. Underground mining operations at the Kombat Mine have been temporarily halted due to the failure of two primary dewatering pumps. “Today’s pump failure is an untimely challenge that we are working to overcome. We applaud the team at site for acting quickly to prioritize the safety of all mine workers. Initial discussions with Horizon indicate that a transaction will go ahead with the hope of restoring operations and getting back to business in a timely manner,” commented Jed Richardson, Executive Chairman of Trigon Metals. Restarting underground operations at Kombat in February 2024 was a major milestone, marking the mine’s return as an underground operation after 17 years. Since then, the team has made incredible progress, sending concentrate trucks to Walvis Bay daily and achieving consistent improvements in operations. Beyond mining, we’ve been proud to run impactful local community initiatives this year, including mine visits for local schools, continuing our efforts with the community garden, and Project Hope—a campaign to encourage responsibility for keeping the town and its surroundings clean. We greatly appreciate the support of our shareholders, stakeholders, and partners during this year of growth and challenges. Your support continues to drive us forward.
