AI is not about taking over human potential, but amplifying it. The true humanity in AI is how we, as people, shape these powerful tools. Yes, AI can process vast amounts of data, automate tasks, and suggest patterns—but it's humans that guide strategy, spark creativity, and drive meaningful decision-making. 💭💡 Whether we're designing a customer experience, planning a business strategy, or solving complex problems, AI is a tool. It's our human ability to understand, interpret, and apply AI's insights with empathy, context, and vision that makes the difference. 🌟 #AI #Security #TrojAI #Strategy #Creativity #Innovation

AI can do a lot, and it's getting more powerful by the day. After hearing me (and many others) wax on about the impact of AI, folks ask me -- what will be the role of humans in organizations of the future? My answer: old fashioned leadership. Humans will remain in the driver seat when it comes to strategy, creativity, and decision-making. It's more important than ever for us to hone these skills — these critical tasks that only humans can do. The future of startups is AI-forward, but human led. 🤖 I write about building startups in the age of AI. 💥 The impact of AI and security on brand reputation is becoming a critical blind spot for many organizations. As AI becomes more integrated into all our systems, the risks aren't just technical—they're deeply tied to a brand’s trustworthiness. When an AI system makes an error (whether it’s a factual mistake, an unnoticed bias, or a security breach) 𝘈𝘕𝘋 the human in the loop doesn't catch it, the repercussions go far beyond the financial impact. The damage to a company's reputation can be irreparable, especially now where transparency and accountability are so highly valued. It’s not enough to rely on humans in the loop to catch these mistakes after the fact. We need built-in security and safeguards at every level of the AI lifecycle—from training and deployment to monitoring and updates. TrojAI provides smarter controls, better model hardening, and continuous learning to help secure AI systems and protect not only data but brand integrity. When done securely, AI is a force for good. When it’s done wrong? The damage—both financial and reputational —is often irreversible. #AI #Cybersecurity #TrojAI #BrandReputation #AIsecurity

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 Think your AI is safe and secure because you have a 'human in the loop'? Think again. CISOs have a near impossible job securing their organizations from an endless barrage of evolving and emerging threats. AI security threats pose an even trickier situation because naturally there is a knowledge gap between AI and cyber people. Without a deep understanding of AI, CISOs are often left to triage away threats, being told they are covered by having a human in the loop. Here’s the problem. Humans. Don’t. Scale. And that’s the whole point of AI! In March 2024 a top-tier academic journal published a paper containing the AI-generated statement, “Certainly, here is a possible introduction to your topic...” This paper had 5 authors and likely at least 3 reviewers and none of these humans noticed. Anything can happen once, right? Maybe… In June 2024 another top-tier journal published a paper containing the AI-generated statement, “I'm very sorry, but I don't have access to real-time...” This paper had 8 authors and, again, none of these humans noticed, resulting in reputational damage for everyone involved, not to mention the academic process. Both papers have since been retracted. Relying on human in the loop doesn't just cause reputational damage, it can cost financially too. Let’s go back to February of last year when Google launched Bard. The canned demo contained a factual error that slipped by humans in the loop and cost the company a whopping $100 billion in market cap - in a single day! Reputational and financial damage go hand in hand, and relying on humans in the loop will cause both. Want real risk mitigation? Build smarter controls into your AI systems. Humans are part of the solution, but they’re far from enough. Follow us over at TrojAI for more hot takes. #AISecurity #AIRedTeaming #HotTakeTuesdays #Cybersecurity #AI #GenAI #Innovation

As emerging technologies - especially AI - continue to evolve, the need for specialized, best-in-breed solutions becomes even more crucial. The expertise, flexibility, and precision that these solutions provide are key to addressing the unique and often complex risks that large, unified platforms may overlook. It's not just about coverage. It's about depth, adaptability, and staying ahead of sophisticated threats. In the fast-moving world of #cybersecurity, having specialized solutions is not just a benefit—it's a necessity. #GenAI #TrojAI #Security

    AI Security for the Enterprise

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 There is an ongoing debate as to which is better to secure emerging tech, best-in-breed point solutions or unified platforms. Best-in-breed point solutions will always be needed – 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 when securing AI behaviour. Here’s why. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 Emerging tech introduces new types of risk. Large vendors have broad coverage but lack deep expertise in emerging areas. Best-in-breed solutions are developed by specialists focused solely on these new types of risk. 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆  Use of emerging tech varies greatly between industries and requires flexible solutions. Large vendors struggle to adapt to the unique needs of each organization. Best-in-breed solutions can be customized to address unique risk profiles. 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Emerging tech introduces nuanced risks that are easy to overlook. Large vendors are convenient but may leave entire areas vulnerable to sophisticated attacks. Best-in-breed solutions are designed to address these nuances. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 Attackers know that unified platforms come with blind spots due to prioritizing breadth over depth. Securing AI systems is complex and best-in-breed solutions that focus on depth of coverage are better equipped to catch subtle attacks. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 Staying ahead of threats introduced by emerging tech requires focused innovation. Large vendors often lag, burdened by the need to support so many technologies. Best-in-breed teams are at the forefront of their fields and are more nimble and able to integrate the latest threat intelligence and innovative protections. Securing against emerging threats, especially when it comes to AI behaviour, requires more than convenience, it requires expertise, adaptability, precision and speed. CISOs know from experience that point solutions are not ideal but will always be needed.   In a world where trust matters, it is disingenuous to suggest otherwise. That’s my hot take as CTO of TrojAI. What’s yours? #AISecurity #AIRedTeaming #HotTakeTuesdays #Cybersecurity #AI #GenAI #Innovation
