Equity is good medicine. At Unity Health Toronto, we believe that diverse and inclusive teams lead to better care for everyone. Running a health care organization that includes three hospitals and 11,000 staff is a complex undertaking. Even more so when you serve one of the largest and most diverse cities in North America. When Unity Health Toronto was founded in 2017 with the integration of three Catholic hospitals, making sure that staff reflect the diversity of patients became an important long-term goal. We’re honored to be recognized among Canada’s Best Diversity Employers 2025. https://lnkd.in/gSU8a7Z9 #DiversityEmployers #TopEmployers2025

#ICYMI: Did you know that 6.5 million Canadians don't have access to a primary care provider? This finding comes from a report by Dr. Tara Kiran, national lead for OurCare and a family doctor and scientist with the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at St. Michael's Hospital. OurCare, the largest pan-Canadian conversation about the future of primary care, engaged Canadians from September 2022 to December 2023 through community roundtables, provincial panels, and a national survey to gather experiences and solutions to the crisis. Throughout #BlackHistoryMonth, we’ve been celebrating with incredible events that honor Black history, culture, and contributions! From hands-on creativity at an African textiles and collaging workshop with Apanaki Temitayo Minerve to the powerful beats of Drums Alive led by Babarinde Williams, exploring the role of sound in activism and heritage, our community has embraced learning, connection, and joy. We also treated our taste buds to the delicious flavors of Haitian patties from Sak Pate! A huge thank you to everyone who has joined, shared, and celebrated with us!
