On Saturday, March 9th, the University of Toronto Women’s Student Association hosted our 5th annual LeadHERship conference for International Women's Day. I have endless gratitude towards our amazing UTWSA executive team for being so hardworking and taking so much initiative to make our first in-person conference back since before COVID-19 a groundbreaking one! The day itself was indescribable and I am so grateful that I could take part as an emcee for the day alongside the lovely Emily Carlucci. Both Emily Carlucci and Daria Temirkaeva are our phenomenal conference co-chairs and they are superhuman for being able to put this all together! A big thank you as well to Eliana Barbuzzi and Alara M., our beautiful co-presidents for inspiring and leading our team with so much dedication and kindness. I could not have asked for a more lovely team environment, it's been such an honour to work with everyone! I'd like to extend my gratitude to each and every one of our speakers and attendees for being brave, vulnerable, and kind. The room was filled with so much positive energy and I am so thankful for all of the emotions we shared that day. Thank you to our incredible speakers who inspired so much emotion and established so much empowerment in the room. Thank you to Raia “Coach” Carey for an inspiring Finding Your Confidence seminar, you brought this amazing energy into the room and some laughter to break the ice. ⭐ The 2024 University of Toronto Women’s Student Association LeadHERship Conference was undoubtedly a great success! From an inspirational seminar and powerful keynote, to a thought-provoking panel discussion and informative networking sessions - the energy in the room was one of not only positivity, but empowerment flowing from one generation of trailblazing women to another. A huge thank you to everyone who made this conference possible! To our attendees - we wouldn't be able to host this conference without you taking the time to attend. To our amazing UTWSA co-presidents and all the UTWSA portfolios from conference, marketing, finance and corporate relations to PR, operations, mentorship and events - the tireless dedication and countless hours you put in, are the reason the event was able to happen in the first place. To all our inspiring representatives and guest speakers - thank you for not only taking the time to attend, but sharing your wisdom and empowering the next generation of powerful women. It's been the utmost honor to be part of this wonderful team, filled with such hard-working, caring and supportive women - whom I feel empowered by on a daily basis, to keep striving for success. The University of Toronto Women’s Student Association hosted our annual LeadHERship Conference this past Saturday, March 9th, and I am overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. As the co-director of Conference alongside the wonderful Emily Carlucci, it was our honour and privilege to bring this conference in-person and serve our tri-campus student body. This is the culmination of countless early-morning and late-night meetings, sleepless planning sessions, collaborating with eight (8!) separate portfolios, and thousands of slack messages. It was hard work but the best work. This conference would not be possible without our outstanding speakers who volunteered their time and expertise to inspire and educate the audience. Thank you to Raia “Coach” Carey for your inspiring seminar, “Confidence from Within”. Thank you to our panelists, Rachel Wong, Arasteh Gatchpazian, Jayne Drucker (Barrett), Brianne Helfrich, Ayesha Ajmal CPA, CA, and Leila Rafi, along with our moderator, Stacey Speranza for volunteering to share your varied professional and personal experiences. Thank you to Allison Forsyth, OLY for your powerful keynote address, “From Adversity to Advocacy”; your vulnerability and strength is an inspiration to us all.
