The most anticipated event of the year is finally here (no, we're not talking about Taylor Swift)! The VRCA Luncheon happens tomorrow at the Vancouver Convention Centre! With just two days until we deck the Vancouver Convention Center with disco cheer, we're excited to highlight some incredible charity organizations we will be supporting at the event this year: ✨ Since 1957, Spinal Cord Injury BC (SCI BC) has been dedicated to helping people with spinal cord injuries and related disabilities and their families, adjust, adapt, and thrive. ✨ Movember is dedicated to providing support towards men's health, which includes mental health. This is a subject often overlooked, stigmatized, and shamed. Movember provides reliable, expert information to help men cope and live happier, healthier, longer lives. ✨ Backpack Buddies BC delivers bags of food to hungry kids across BC. Each bag includes meals and snacks to last them the weekend. M&L Group has pledged to match all donations, up to a total of $10,000, raised through the 2024 VRCA Luncheon. ✨ Honour House Soc. is a refuge, a “home away from home” for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families to stay, completely free of charge, while they are receiving medical care and treatment in the Metro Vancouver area. ➡️ We can't wait to host you and support these incredible initatives at the VRCA Luncheon! Last week, VRCA hosted a Member Forum, bringing together our GC and TC members to discuss key topics shaping today’s construction industry. The forum fostered valuable dialogue on critical issues such as risk transfer, the importance of thoroughly understanding contracts, strategic approaches to contract negotiation, and insights into emerging contract models. This collaborative environment allowed GCs and TCs to share their perspectives and engage in meaningful discussions - possibly even evolve approaches to these business areas! Encouraged by the success of this forum, VRCA will host another combined forum in the new year. Stay tuned for more details as we continue to support open conversations and knowledge-sharing across the industry!
