About us

We have designed and developed a Negative Pressure Wound Therapy bandage, we call it, VacuAide. This bandage is the same size of regular adhesive bandages, but it has a miniature vacuum pump to induce a vacuum (negative pressure) on the wound. To prevent air to be sucked into the wound, the adhesive bandage must be sealed with an airtight adhesive. A connection pad is then applied over a small hole that is made in the drape and is connected to a vacuum.

Updates

  • Since Johnson & Johnson introduced the BandAid in 1920, adhesive bandages have become a household staple. However, their basic design has remained largely unchanged for over a century - until now. Vandage represents the next major leap in bandage technology, moving beyond wound protection to active healing promotion. While previous innovations focused on different shapes, materials, or incorporated ointments, Vandage introduces a paradigm shift by integrating Negative Pressure Wound Therapy into a standard-sized adhesive bandage. This advancement brings the benefits of a treatment previously reserved for severe wounds in clinical settings to everyday cuts and scrapes. #NPWT #WoundCare #Wound #HealthcareInnovation

Vandage is transforming the adhesive bandage industry with its innovative Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) technology. Unlike traditional bandages that simply protect wounds, Vandage accelerates healing by applying gentle negative pressure to the wound site. This miniaturized NPWT system is the same size as a regular adhesive bandage, making it accessible for everyday use on small to large-sized wounds. By incorporating a tiny vacuum pump, controller, and battery into a compact design, Vandage brings the benefits of NPWT - previously limited to large, open wounds in clinical settings - to the average consumer. This groundbreaking approach speeds up healing and helps soothe pain, all at a cost comparable to conventional bandages. #NPWT #WoundCare #Wound #HealthcareInnovation

While Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) has traditionally been associated with treating large, complex wounds, Vandage is changing this narrative. By miniaturizing NPWT technology, Vandage brings its benefits to everyday cuts and scrapes. This innovation addresses a gap in wound care, offering accelerated healing for injuries that were previously considered too minor for advanced treatment. #wound #technology #medicaldevice
