A huge thank you to our amazing investors at Two Small Fish Ventures for the invitation to the ventureLAB’s HardTech Gala. Your unwavering belief in the power of innovation and your invaluable support continue to play a pivotal role in advancing hard tech startups. Hardtech startups face unique hurdles—high upfront costs and lengthy development timelines are just the beginning. According to recent reports, 60% of revenue in “Technology” will come from hardware over the next five years, with software contributing just 40%. Yet, despite the growing importance of hardware, only slightly over 20% of VC funding has gone to hardware-focused startups since 2016. This is an area where we all can make a difference. By increasing support through resources, mentorship, and investment, we can unlock the vast potential of hardware innovation and ensure these startups gain the traction they need to succeed. I’m excited to be part of a movement that will empower the next generation of groundbreaking technologies with the backing they truly deserve.
Last night, we had a phenomenal time at ventureLAB 's HardTech Gala! The event was a fantastic showcase of innovation and creativity in the hardtech space. We heard 8 groundbreaking pitches by CEOs: Sina Alavi from Kimia Analytics, Mark Donaldson from Quantuity Analytics Inc., Dr. Macarena Cataldo from Virdis Energy, Sahar Sam from Wireless PNC, Alexander von Kaldenberg from GoChip Animal Technology, George Yin from VCycene Inc., Denis Tokarev from Cattle Scan, and Ilia Borishchev from VIBRAINT. It was inspiring to see so many brilliant minds come together to drive the future of tech. Thank you to our table members Parnian Majd, B.Eng, M.Eng, Richard Liang, Shreyas Potnis, Pat Martinson, and Roberto S. Enkerlin for engaging in such constructive discussions, it was a pleasure to have you at the Two Small Fish Table. A massive shoutout to the team at ventureLAB for curating such an impactful summit, bringing together leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors who are paving the way in advanced manufacturing, hard tech, and more. The energy and dedication to pushing technological boundaries were palpable. Here’s to continued growth, new partnerships, and transformative innovation in the industry! #HardTech #Innovation #VentureLabSummit #TechInnovation

Passionate about events and relationship management. I design impactful events that add value by fostering connections and delivering thought leadership content, leaving a lasting impression.
Now that the dust has settled, I’ve had a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of ventureLAB's #HardTechSummit. It’s truly an honor to be leading this event year over year, alongside such an amazing team, who worked tirelessly to make it a success. Seeing the overwhelming recognition, connections, and value created through this event has been so rewarding. It’s clear that we’ve built a valuable event for the hardware and semiconductor ecosystem—a space where voices are heard, meaningful connections are made, groundbreaking technologies are showcased, and growth is fostered. A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible: our HardTech Planning Team, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, pitch finalists, VCs and so many others. Your contributions were invaluable, and I’m deeply grateful for your support. Here’s to #HardTechSummit 2025 and continuing to drive innovation together! I cannot possibly tag everyone as we had 1100+ attendees, 35+ speakers, 30 tech exhibitors, 8 pitch finalists and over 30 sponsors over the two days - Thank you to every single one of you for contributing to this years success and being such a pleasure to work alongside! #HardTech #innovation #YorkRegion #Markham #hardware #semiconductor #AI #Medtech #startups #techfounders
