💬 Let’s talk about the Four Horsemen of relationships: criticism, defensiveness, contempt, and stonewalling. These patterns, identified by John Gottman, can be major obstacles in a healthy partnership—and contempt, in particular, is the biggest predictor of divorce. 🧠 Understanding these behaviors is key: ✨ Criticism and defensiveness are common but manageable with the right communication tools. ✨ Contempt is a red flag that requires immediate attention to rebuild respect and connection. ✨ Stonewalling might seem like indifference, but often it’s a sign of overwhelm. Recognizing when a partner needs time to self-soothe can prevent further disconnection.
