Awesome #contractor #partner ALERT We support a #multires client in minimizing their #water in exchange for a share of the savings we realize. We are into our 3rd year and have recently expanded our sphere of influence to include the #water used for #irrigation and watering flower gardens We knew there was #waste and could quantify the loss but needed a #smart solution. We didn't know HOW to eliminate the waste so we found a WHO. We have partnered with Chris Le Conte and the team SMART Watering Systems and are already seeing early gains from their #tech, #process and their team. The client was sensitive about the changeover to new controls at each building and handing over the "keys" to a new team. Their first specific concern was about the perennials that had been planting and not wanting to starve them of #water early in the growing season. The response from Chris and his team was fantastic (You would think they'd done this 300X before...) "Hi All, we can account for any new planting by placing the respective zones on a dedicated program for establishment. The other zones can remain on weather-based programming. As long as SWS is notified we can adjust watering accordingly. While on site I spoke with the site managers and explained this and I also attached stickers to each controller with our phone number (I supplied business cards as well)." Pick the right #WHO and you're worry free. #whonothow Bob Langlois

The devil is in the details... In context of #water #conservation in older #apartment buildings in the GTA the answer lies in managing #toilets and minimizing #waterloss from leaking / running toilets Our answer as part of a regular maintenance program has been to install motion activated control sensors on the supply lines 1. No motion detected = no water 2. No water = no loss from leaks / running toilets ✔ Easy to install ✔ Energy harvesting battery uses flow of water to re-charge battery ✔ Overnight water use reduction averaging 35% Do you want a graph 📉 like this that is supported by 12 month payback ? We completed this project mid February and day over day, week over week, month over month reductions in #waterloss continue Guard Dog Valves #propertymanager #waterconservation #toilets Bob Langlois

What is the most effective to way to #reduce #waterloss and save #money ? For our clients, it starts with adopting a #mindset of #measuring to #manage This is in essence a "cover charge" for working with Water Control Management. If you and/or your organization can't accept and embrace the commitment and discipline to #measure to #manage we can't help you We started a large 370 unit #toilet renewal project yesterday with a series of baseline metrics to measure against... ✔ 670 L water / unit / day or $91 / water / unit / mo ✔ Hourly overnight volume of 21.02 L / unit After day one and completion of ~ 20% of the units, we are down 11% on our key metric (Volume Unit / Hour) showing 18.6 L / U / Hr For our client, this means they; ✔ are on pace to exceed savings target ✔ have boosted confidence that testing something new with proper measurement works ✔ are boosting the net income and value of the asset by reducing their #water bill Shout out to the WHO's making this happen including; ☑ Measurement partner Connected Sensors ☑ #leak solution partner Guard Dog Valves and ☑ Implementation partner All Professional Trades Inc Curious about #measuring to #manage ? We pretty good at sharing and telling stories... Bob Langlois Doug Guidish Aaron Graben Belinda Gilbey Ammar Ewes Simon Brunet

Have you ever wondered what an #expensive trip to the washroom looks like ? This image below captures a $150 trip to the #loo 🚽 Image below captured a basement #toilet in an older mixed used urban property where contractors were on site doing work and used a seldom frequented washroom The building with a running #toilet spent more on #water in one day than it normally does in a month Courtesy of a #flowie from Alert Labs Inc. owner and in turn contractor were flagged from #highusage #alert to check it out and caught it after 24 hours ✔ No damage ✔ Financial loss < $200 and better than having it run until the next #waterbill ✔ Sounds like an ideal candidate for a Guard Dog Valves #water #waterloss #toiletries #propertymanager
